After literally wasting an hour of telling traders to use the tradechannel i felt like Don Quichote. For not a single one of them accepted any argument. All they could do is write a "Rofl" and a "f_uck off". When asking why they use the local channel they say "because people have trade channel turned off". Hnng, guess what morons? Thats because of you -.-

So now, let's all join the revolution. If those lil brats spam our beloved local channel, well... let's claim their beloved Trade channel then. I did this for a while in Ascalon and it is astonishing as to HOW aggresive Traders can get if you abuse THEIR Channel. Worth a lot of fun and maybe this will waken up some of them.

Oh and i would post screenshots of the few minutes but there are just too many insults in it to post it publically without graying out names.

If we all do this... won't it just make the situation even worse? Aren't the people on the trade channels doing the right thing? Why do you want to bother them?

Yeah, don't punish the traders who are actually in the right channel. ANet should just put a word filter on the Local chat that changes 'WTB', 'WTS' and 'For Sale' into 'I'm a lemur', 'I like peanuts' and 'Pizza tastes great'. That should disrupt them enough...

Yeah, all traders are morons. Even those who *do* use the trade channel. Let's burn them all. Spam the trade channel and bug all traders who are using it.

You do realize that being stupid with the trade channel won't fix your problem, don't you. You'll annoy *only* the players who are *not* bugging you.

Nothing will fix this problem. Absolutely NOTHING will. If they put a wordfilter in it people will just spam: bying instead of buying or W_T_B: instead of wtb
or kar hides instead of charr hides... and so on and on and on.

This thread has one purpose, and one single purpose and it is inbetween the lines, not said clearly. Now go and figure that one out.

Here you suggest that we invade the real traders territory. Really nice. Like pissing on a copperhead. If you want to join revolution, leave the traders alone that work in the trade channel.

The really bad part of your idea, is that the traders in the local channel mostly do not trade in the trade channel. So, you would have absolutely no effect on them.

But wait, theres more. Many traders have all boxes unchecked and wait for a wisper back. So some words in the channel that they don't see have no effect.

You have to attack the wrong doers, not the people in the right place.

I have been on this crusade for a while, and I don't need you screwing it up for me.

Since no one seemed interested, I have just taken it upon my self to call them names in public and attempt to make them so mad they hit the little X in the right hand corner. I may only truely ruin soneones day one a week, but if I get one, you get one, that guy gets one, and it catches on, were golden.

And to top it off, I turn off local when I am in LA trying to buy stuff.

That's a great idea! You could have a randomnizer for these changed filter words, so that the result is different...

Just a few suggestions for what WTB and WTS chould be changed into

"I have anally inserted a..."
"My mom thinks I'm a..."
"I want to have sex with a..."
"I want to suck on a..."
"Someone please slap my face with a...."

It would kill the ambience of the PvE, but it would probably raise a smile, and traders would stop using the public chat for fear of abject humiliation.
